Senior Men

Southern District Cricket Club started Seniors cricket in season 1987:1988 in A5 turf. A premiership had SDCC promoted to A4 in season 1988:1989.  SACA approved an application to join the SACA competition in C Grade for two seasons 1989:1990 and 1990:1991, Promoted to B Grade for seasons 1991:1992 and 1992:1993 before promotion to A Grade in 1993:1994 under the leadership of Captain Coach Harvey Jolly.

Fielding 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Grade teams in T20, One-Day and Two-Day competitions, SDCC's Men's Program is lead by Head Coach, former Australian quick bowler Andrew Zesers. who took over the Head Coach role in the 2022-2023 season. 

The Senior Men's Squad trains Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:30pm-8pm at Bice Oval, Christies Beach.

SENIOR PLAYER OF THE ROUND ROUND 2 BRODIE LONG

Brodie Long is our Senior Player of the Round for Round 2.

Brodie took 5/22 in the first innings and then 4/68 in the second innings in our Second Grade match vs. Prospect.

Brodie’s 9/90 for the match helped the Second Grade bowl Prospect out twice to win the match outright.

SENIOR PLAYER OF THE ROUND ROUND 1 SHAUN TANNER

Shaun Tanner is our Senior Player of the Round for Round 1.

Shaun scored 72 with the bat and then followed that up with 4/62 with the ball in the First Grade’s victory over Adelaide.

1st Grade Match Summary
17 October 2022

Southern District defeat Adelaide Adelaide won the toss and sent us in on a pitch that looked like it had a bit in it for the bowlers. We played quite well and we’re 2/60 at lunch. A large partnership between Josh Barrett and Shaun Tanner saw us to 3/200 before they both fell. At Stumps on Day 1 we were well poised at 9/259. We continued batting on Day 2, making our way to all out for 274. Barrett 93 & Tanner 72 the leading run scorers. Our Bowling innings started well p...
